Cooper Wilks

Cooper’s stints with professional basketball, soon saw him as a crowd favourite with his thunderous dunks & athletic style of play. Cooper brings his immense talent and stellar 3×3 resume to the Supersonics roster. Having represented at the highest level of competition in the sport (The 3×3 World Tour), as well as representing Australia in the World University League for 3 straight years (& currently). Cooper is an asset to the club. As an engineering student, he has the attention to detail that will help to ensure the club’s success over the long haul.

Cooper Wilks is currently ranked 3rd in Australia as an Oceania 3 x 3 basketball representative who has competed in World Tour competitions in China, Mongolia and across Europe. He won a championship as a collegiate level athlete for the University of New Brunswick in Canada and was fortunate enough to have been a member of the Manly Sea Eagles Championship League Men’s basketball team who also took out the title. He is a current elite level student athlete for Macquarie University and was recognised as ‘Rookie of the Year’ when playing youth league in 2012 before playing division 1 and winning the Championship in 2014. Cooper held the basketball scoring title for youth league division 1 in 2016 and has won several gold medals as a member of the Macquarie University Basketball team in both EUGs and AUGs. In high school Cooper competed at the highest GPS level, awarded ‘Best Offensive Player’ in 2013 and winning the competition the previous year.

In addition to playing he holds a coaching certification and is first aid qualified, having coached as a head coach of the Macquarie University team in 2017 and as the Senior 1sts coach at Ravenswood school for girls. Cooper has also coached and developed his own programs – dealing with a range of talented individuals, many of whom have gone on to have success at the College level (Head coach of AUS rep team in the US who won the National Title).
